How to set up and use the coach
Five minutes to install it on your team's Discord server, then just talk to it. The coach answers in French.
1 Invite the bot
A server admin (with the “Manage Server” permission) opens the invite link and picks the team's server.
The bot only asks for what it needs: see channels, write, attach images, read history, create threads and write in them, use its emojis (champion and item icons), create events (matches in the server's calendar). No admin rights.
2 Give it a channel
Create a dedicated channel, for example #coach. The coach only answers in the channel where it is installed; anywhere else, it points to that channel.
Recommended: hide the other channels from the bot
- Server Settings → Roles → the bot's role → turn off View Channels.
- In
#coach→ Edit Channel → Permissions → add the bot's role and allow View Channel, Send Messages, Create Public Threads, Send Messages in Threads, Attach Files, Use External Emojis. - At server level, keep Create Events for the bot.
3 Install the team
In #coach, the admin mentions the bot with the team name and the players' Riot IDs:
@Coach on est l'équipe Black Lotus : Pseudo#TAG top, Pseudo#TAG jungle, …
An op.gg multisearch link works too. The bot checks the accounts with Riot and offers to install the team: click Confirmer. Fetching the last 90 days of games takes a few minutes; the bot tells you when it's ready.
One team per server. To move to another channel, the admin mentions the bot in the new channel: it offers to move there (same team, same credits).
4 Each player introduces themselves
Each player writes once to the bot, in a thread of the coach channel:
je suis Pseudo#TAG
The coach then knows who is talking (“mon KDA”, “ma dernière game”) and can mention the player in its messages (session recaps, goals). An admin can also do it for a player: “@Pseudo c'est Faker#KR1”.
5 Manage the team on this site
Sign in with Discord on the team space. You need the “Manage Server” permission on the team's server (or be the team's owner or coach). There you can:
- rename the team;
- add or remove Riot accounts (10 players at most);
- link each player to their Discord account, or undo a link;
- change the coach's channel.
All of this can also be done by talking to the bot in Discord.
Everyday use
- Ask anything. Mention the bot in
#coachto open a conversation (a thread), then write freely in that thread: your stats, your last game, what to work on, a draft… - Automatic messages. The coach also posts on its own: a recap after each play session (one thread per player), a debrief of team games and a report every Monday.
- Goals. The coach sets a team goal and, for each player, a personal goal and their contribution to the team goal. It announces them, tells you when they are reached or missed, then proposes the next ones. Anyone can ask to change theirs (“change mon objectif”).
- Matches. Give the coach the opponent (op.gg link), the date and the time. A button offers to add the match to the server's calendar; the coach posts the preparation once the opponent's games are fetched, then a review after the match. Only queue games count: tournament custom games are not available through Riot's API.
- Credits. Each new space gets 50 free credits to try the coach. Then the subscription gives 1,000 credits per month to a team (€5/month or €50/year) and 500 to a solo player (€3/month or €30/year). The balance is shown under each answer, and automatic messages are free.
- Wrong or odd answer? Click 🐛 Signaler un bug under the message: we receive the conversation to fix it.
Solo use
A player can also use the coach alone, in a direct message to the bot (you just need to share a server with it): give your Riot ID and confirm. A solo space has its own credits.
